Cody ChesnuTT and the Roots performing The Seed (2.0)
This wasn't going to be my first post, but if you really think Jimmy Page is "coolness personified," then you haven't yet encountered Cody ChestnuTT...
Love it. Fantastic riff - very 'Let It Bleed'-era Stones. Brilliant bass. Can't believe I have never heard of either Cody or the Roots. Fantastico!
Doing some investgating. Cody is on 4AD records over here and they were the ones who championed the Pixies back in early 90s. I must check out 'The Headphone Masterpiece'.
The Roots look like they have serious credentials too. They remind me of a great band called Fishbone. Do you know them? Couple of links - worth checking out - a bit like Red Hot Chili Peppers
Cody ChestnuTT's been around forever. The Roots since the mid 90s... I think. I'm surprised you've never heard of them. They're more hip-hop than this track gives way to, and Cody is a little more George Clintonesque, but it's a good blend here. Are you familiar with Erykah Badu or Common? Same type of hip-hop soul...
